Hailing from the East side of Los Angeles, FEELS are known for their electrifying live shows and two highly regarded LPs: their first, s/t, produced by Ty Segall and released in 2016 on Castle Face Records, followed by 2019's Post Earth, released on Wichita Recordings and produced by Tim Green. Live, the band pulls no punches, delivering tight hooks, luscious melodies and satisfying chaos. This energy serves as the perfect vehicle for their lyrics, urging audiences to shake away apathy, fueled by a renewed spirit of togetherness. After all, as Pitchfork pointed out in their Post Earth 8/10 review- "...polemical discourse and rock’n’roll fun are not mutually exclusive—and, if anything, they should encourage one another."
2021 finds the band releasing E.P. Subversive Reaction on Deemed Printable, a local art publication that has produced a special limited pressing of 250 silk-screened 12” vinyl records, hand packaged and printed using a risograph printer in-house. The E.P. was recorded by Mark Rains at Station House Studio in March 2020 and features new member Cole Berliner of Kamikaze Palm Tree taking over for Shannon Lay on guitar and vocals (after her 2019 departure from the band), in addition to original members Laena M.I. (vocals, guitar), Amy Allen (bass, vocals) and Michael Rudes (drums). They are currently working on their third full-length album, set for release on Wichita Recordings.
